A smart factory device for small and medium-sized machine tools has been developed to build a smart factory at low cost.

GSTI (CEO Oh Jun-cheol) announced on the 6th that it developed and applied `` GIOT 1605 '', a smart factory device for machine tools using the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

'GIOT 1605' is a device that can replace the industrial computer, which is the essential equipment for building and operating Smart Factory. When operating a machine tool such as a grinding machine or a drilling machine, it is possible to precisely monitor the whole production process and detailed operation of the machine tool, from the receipt of parts to processing and shipping, on behalf of the computer.

Small and medium-sized businesses using machine tools are optimized for building smart factories. It is difficult for machine tools to automatically grasp production information such as yield, machining time, precision, and defective rate. To automatically extract this and make it into a database, a monitoring device must be attached to the machine tool controller. You pay for it separately.

Developed by GST, Smart Factory device can automatically extract and make machine tool production information into DB without installing additional equipment or cost. Because information is processed using power line communication (PLC) and wireless sensor network technologies, there is no need to install a complex wired network like traditional industrial computers. It is also smaller than a small home printer, making it easy to install around machine tools.

There is no software license burden using the Linux operating system (OS) available as open source.

GST has recently built a smart factory using this product in Boheung Precision, an automotive parts processing company.

CEO Oh Jun-cheol said, “It is a new device that allows big data technology to be applied as a key equipment for smart factory construction and operation by incorporating big data technology into machine tools such as machining accuracy analysis according to temperature difference. Will be. ”
